Chapter 8 Stakeholder Workgroup

The Chapter 8 Stakeholder Workgroup will assist the department in its efforts to update and revise the current Wastewater Design Guide.

The purpose of the Chapter 8 Stakeholder Workgroup is to provide the department the opportunity to present initial drafts of the proposed Chapter 8 Design Standards revisions to the regulated community and gather input and comments.

The first revisions will be to rules 10 CSR 20-8.110 through 10 CSR 20-8.220, which apply to sewage works with flows greater than 22,500 gallons per day (gpd). The small sewage works design guide, 10 CSR 20-8.020, will be revised after 8.110 through 8.220 because much of the basic fundamental design criteria will come from the rules for large sewage works (Flows > 22,500 gpd). 10 CSR 20-8.500, Secondary Containment for Agricultural Facilities, will not be included in this revision process to Chapter 8.

All comments received from the stakeholders will be considered in the draft of the revised design standards during the rule-making process. All available meeting minutes will be posted on the Web as the individual rules are presented to the Missouri Clean Water Commission. The Missouri Clean Water Commission will conduct a public hearing and accept comments on the individual draft rules after publication in the Missouri Register.

Rule Making Developments

10 CSR 20-8.110 is currently going through the rule making process.  It is anticipated that this rule will become effective May 31, 2011.
