The purpose of this manual is to provide developers, contractors, planners and local government officials with information and descriptions of erosion, sediment and storm water control practices. Use of these practices will reduce the amount of sediment and other pollutants leaving construction sites and entering our water resources. Their use can also reduce storm water runoff and its potential to carry pollutants, and cause flooding and stream channel instability.
