DEPARTMENT OFFERS ARCHAEOLOGY PROGRAM
AT THE MISSOURI STATE MUSEUM JUNE 28

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 20, 2008 – The Missouri State Museum in the Missouri State Capitol will offer an afternoon program on Saturday, June 28, about archaeology. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, this program will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and it is free and open to the public.

Summer is here and the Missouri State Museum is celebrating by offering special programs on selected weekends. Come join in a day of “digging into the past!” This program will unlock the secrets to Missouri’s hidden history and explore the world of archaeology. Learn what archaeologists do, the methods used in a dig and how to identify the treasures from underground. There will even be a “mini dig” for visitors to take part in. Meet at the tour desk in the first floor rotunda.
